I love this camera backpack. It was perfect for a long travel trip where I needed protection for my camera but also plenty of extra room to carry other travel supplies . The side opening gave me easy access to my camera so I could be spontaneous during the trip without having to keep digging in & out of the pack.
Though, I felt it was a little big for day hikes, I would have preferred something smaller; it worked perfect as my carry on luggage. I was not traveling with a computer, but I found the added computer space great to put folders and books. The buckles on the lower half make an easy place to roll & cinch a light jacket.
I would call this an ideal 'Travel Pack'.
