Eagle Creek Packable Daypack

Cheap Eagle Creek Packable Daypack Review

I picked this up in a well known bookstore in Portland OR on a whim -- I was looking for a daypack that didn't take up much space empty and this is about the smallest packing daypack I've seen. It worked out great -- very well made and durable and has largely replaced my bigger traditional daypack for most things, including for work stuff. I am looking for another because I want one for my Harley's saddlebag (sometimes you just need extra cargo carrying space). It's about the lightest and most useful packable daypack I've ever found.

Because it is so lightweight, the fabric is tough but not indestructible. If you have a lot of metal objects in it and you drag it along a concrete walk, you will wear holes in it, but it won't compromise the integrity of the fabric. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Second issue, the model I have does have a double zipper, but that can be an annoyance. If you leave the zippers at the top and don't close them together, picking up the pack by the bottom will cause your stuff to exit rapidly to the ground. Don't ask how I know this. The solution is not to be a knucklehead and make sure the zippers are closed.
